There are lots of options out there for creating a home office, but there may not be many that meet your needs...especially in the cold Scottish weather!
About eight months ago I started to look into what garden offices could look like, what they would cost and how you build them. I know a number of contractors who already have a home office built from a kit and one of the main concerns was the cost to heat in the winter months.
After a month of looking into the options I finally decided to go for a SIP's (Structural Insulated Panels) Garden Office . While there were kits online there wasn't one that fully met my requirements so I decided to design and build it myself.
You may be surprised to learn it's not as hard as you may think!
This was a DIY build with help from the professionals for plastering, electrics and foundation posts. There was also a few days help from some willing volunteers who I owe several favors too including my 10 year old daughter.
I am happy to provide a consultancy service which will help anybody thinking about doing this in the future and to pass on any advice throughout the process. This will allow you to have a high quality super insulated building at a fraction of the cost.
